SSO Poster 15Sep2018 update  stage plan for arts fest

Dress Rehearsal (with percussion and narrator). 10 am - about 11:30 or 11:45 at the Ontario Senior Center (multi-purpose room). 225 E B St. Ontario CA 91764

MAP: https://goo.gl/maps/qorAJJ285Jz

Rehearsal Order: Peter and the Wolf at 10 am, Carnival of the Animals at about 10:45

Soundcheck: 1:30 pm on the festival stage

Concert: 2 pm

Info about the Festival grounds: Be sure to get there in time to be onstage for the soundcheck at 1:30. It is about 2 blocks from the Senior Center. There may be parking in a parking structure right next to the festival area, but we are not sure of how crowded it may be by then. (There are about 230 spaces). If there is no room, you will be able to offload, then go to a nearby lot. (Volunteers will be on hand to direct us, and there are shuttles planned. I plan to go to the festival area immediately after rehearsal. There will be food trucks, beer tasting, etc. etc.

I will be handing out sheets with all the latest info at the dress rehearsal.

Here is a link to info about location and parking for the festival: http://ontarioarts.org/festival/location-parking/

(The location of the Ontario Festival of the Arts will be held in the Arts District (the area between and around the Ontario Museum of History & Art and CCMA). Ontario Arts District 217 S. Lemon Avenue Ontario, California 91761

For general Festival info check here: http://ontarioarts.org/festival/

Volunteers are needed for instrument petting zoo and info booth! Please let us know (tell George or me or Sandy) that you can help, and when you can help. We need all day coverage for our info booth and our instrument petting zoo. We have a few volunteers - but not enough. Think about a "shift" you could handle - maybe a couple of hours... We are going to have to have this organized by Wednesday evening.

A note to our booth volunteers: There is a general festival volunteers meeting at the Museum of history and Art on Wednesday evening. You are NOT required to attend, but it might be helpful to you if you do..The meeting is Wednesday, September 12 at 6:30 PM at the Ontario Museum of History & Art (225 S. Euclid Avenue).

We are seeking committed musicians who want to be part of a vital, high quality performing organization. Openings not filled by qualified permanent musicians are sometimes filled on a concert by concert, “as needed” basis. This is NOT a “union” orchestra. Ongoing rehearsals (with some exceptions) are usually held on Saturdays from 9:30am – 12noon, 3-5 rehearsals per concert, plus occasional sectionals, depending upon the repertoire.

You will hear selections from:

2001, A Space Odyssey

Pirates of the Caribbean

Star Wars

Magnificent 7

and many more...

1891 saw the birth of the City of Ontario, and the birth of motion pictures studios...

so the SSO is celebrating with classic and new music from your favorite films
